Re-establishing Santa's Pizza as market leaders

Santa’s made a name for themselves by selling pizzas since 1991 out of their first pizza shop in Burnley, Lancashire.

A monumental and somewhat fortuitous error when ordering signage for the shop ‘Pizza Centre’ and instead ordering a sign that read ‘Pizza Santa’ established the quirky and unique moniker.

The name Santa’s is certainly unique and now very well established – at least in the Santa’s strongholds of Burnley and the surrounding areas.

Our brief was to scale up the Santa’s concept, making it into a contemporary and desirable chain suited to the student, the professional and families.

Management wanted a fresh and vibrant brand identity that captured their excitement and passion for all things pizza, moving away from the now tired illustrative Santa’s logo and the ‘Christmas all year round’ sloganeering.

The new brand needed imbue the qualities of ‘tradition and family orientated warmth’ from the current Santa Claus motif but interpreted in a very simple and contemporary manner.
